Fa lalalala

These pics are from a few months ago, but they are so darn cute, we had to put em up.
We've been working on Elijah's reading skills... I think he's making progress.

Its been hard at times with tony working so much this week, but it just makes us more grateful for the time that we do get to hang out.
Tony has been working every day, like 16 hour days. This is Tony hard at work.

Winter fashion/Tuesdays with Elijah

I made Evie try on a winter hat because, you know, it can be cold. So maybe its a little big, but i think she liked it.

Elijah even came over for a look.

OK, so it was my hat. But I think she wears it well for a teeny. Here is what our day is looking like.

This is usually how breakfast goes. Elijah doesnt know the names of all the cereals so i just point until I get the Yes dance. You'll see what Im talking about....I normally dont buy sugar cereals, unless you count variations of cheerios. So I dont know how elijah knew to be so excited about this one.

Here is what dinner can look like. Evie loves when elijah comes around and plays.

Mealtimes can be funny.

In other news, I am currently writing my LAST paper for the semester, then I have only to take four exams, and then we are off to our trip around America, starting in Disneyworld!!

Please, milkies.

Evie likes to play in blankets. Dont worry, if a blanket is near, she is fully supervised. (by me too, not just elijah)

So elijah gets into the fridge ALL.THE.TIME. now. We need one of those fridge lock thingys. He especially likes to get all of the supplies out for what he wants, then brings me in to do the dirty work i.e. pour the drink. He sometimes can pour it himself with me helping, but I prefer to do it myself and avoid the mess.

Seriously, he set this out himself. He can hardly reach the counter, yet he got it all out and set it all up there.

Check out baby einstein takin a bath
Bubbles, maaan. Bubbles.

Kind of fishy....

The kisses, that is. She's like a little fishy.

Just try and tell me you are not excited to get in on this action for the holidays, family people.

The Big 8

So Evie turned 8 months last week. WHERE DOES THE TIME GO. seriously, this girl was born yesterday right? I just brought her home from the hospital didn't I? She is still adorably tiny, but looking back at her little premie pictures, she has come a long way.
Anyways, she finally cut some teeth, well, one.. tooth. Working on a second one i think. She's not crawling yet, she likes to lift up her arms and legs and sort of swim on the floor. She is getting pretty good at rolling to whatever destination she aims for. Today I found her practically halfway under the couch, her little legs at least, because she had rolled herself all the way from the middle of the living over there to play with a blanket while i did dishes. When elijah was 8 months he was already standing and almost walking along the furniture, but little Evie is going to be my tiny roll-y poll-y baby forever.

Here she is wearing her Sleep Sack which, by the way, is AWESOME. She was a pretty good sleeper before, but since Grandma Debbie got this for her, she sleeps, no kidding, from like 9 to 9 almost EVERY night. Elijah is two and has yet to be on that sort of schedule. His sleep schedule includes -wake up at two am and sneak into mommy and daddy's bed. I think Evie has crawling in her near future....

she loves that tongue.

And still prefers the fingers to a binky. Two-thirds of the way to one year.

Apparently, I need to feed elijah more because lately he seems to be eating anything that gets left on the counter. My lovely banana bread got ravaged by a certain two year old today.

Seriously though, where does it all come from?

How bout that snow. This was our view out the kitchen window the other day. That's about a foot of snow sitting on the wall. Pretty pretty winter wonderland.
Some sleepy winter pictures.

Supplemented with Elijah shenanigan pictures

Remember the dog licking elijah like he was a delicious ice cream cone?
He really thought elijah was yummy, ok and maybe the lollipop.

On a more solemn note, Tony's grandma Koens passed away yesterday. She was the very sweetest Grammy and we are so glad we got to go out to visit just a few weeks ago, before we knew about her leukemia. I am glad I have had the chance know her and her wonderful spirit and I know we will see her again someday.
I wish we had some pictures to share but I never thought about grabbing the camera when whenever we visited. darn darn. We have some nice memories to look back on and I am sure Tony has many stories to tell to the kiddos when they get older. Send some prayers to Grandpa Koens and the rest of the family. Tony flew out today to be there for the rest of the week. Hopefully he can help bring some comfort.
Love you (Great) Grandma Koens!

Sleepy sledding

We wanted to go sledding because it has been snowing ALL. DAY. i mean, we woke up and it was snowing and it is still snowing as i write this at ten at night.
On our way to sledding, elijah fell asleep in the car and as some may know, this kid is hard to wake up from a nap.

But that didnt stop us.He did wake up after tony sprinkled a little fairy snow on his face.

Here is elijah being attacked by a random dog. More on this later.
On a side note, tonight has been so kid-stressful and it doesnt help that Tony's flarties could clear out a stink factory. I mean, COME ON.

Here are a few videos to keep everybody occupied while i keep working on homework. Only a few weeks left....

Ready, Aim....Shyduh?

Dance dance, tickle tickle, dance dance

Evie working on her future singing career.

More tickle tickle.

Just for reference, Elijah did not eat those other brownies. Tony did.

Only 25 more hours of homework to go ...this week.

Schooooool

I have so much school work to do, i hardly have time to do anything except change diapers, make breakfast, take shower, get children ready, get myself ready, get groceries, change diapers, make lunchies, do five homework assignments, dishes, laundry, change diapers, dinner, look over more school stuff, switch laundry, eat dinner, get kids ready for bed, get myself ready for bed, and finally watch Conan. Conan is what i look forward to most. the end of the day, ahhhhhh.
Despite the full schedule, we were able to catch a few funny moments over the week.

Elijah thought he'd take over feeding the baby while i cleaned up a bit
Even for lunch time, elijah volunteered

And once again, i present Elijahs love for cheese.

In the leaves.

Last year, elijah loved playing in the leaves, but could only crawl through them. This year, it is a different story.

Tony made a big pile of leaves, only to barely survive the onslaught of little boys that came running from all corners of the park. The pile didnt last very long and soon they were just running around on top of the leaves.

Love this cool weather. Cant wait for Grandma Debbie to come visit tomorrow!

For Maymay

Here's a pick-me-up. Baby style.

Elijah gives high fives, then does a fist and says 'Pound it.'

This is what we do in the mornings.. towards the end, elijah is climbing on me behind the camera, trying to kiss me.

Halloween: check.

Next comes thanksgiving, then, Christmas! Oh how I love the holiday season! Our halloween has been fairly uneventful(see below), but still its exciting just that its halloween.

Yesterday, the kids and I went to our church Trunk or Treat (which i forgot to take any pictures of, whoops). Basically, you decorate the open trunk of your car all Halloweenie-like and the kids walk around with their parents and trick or treat to your trunk! Its the safe way of doing it these days, I suppose. We mainly stuck to our van trunk and didnt do so much of the walking around since we had plenty of candy to share already. It was lots of fun, we saw lots of buzz lightyears this year. And in case you forgot, Elijah was Brobee
So far tonight we havent gotten any trick or treaters. NONE! what kind of place do we live in! No trick or treaters! Anyways, I am super bummed because we had awesome pumpkins this year.

Oh and this really did happen earlier this week.

Winter hats and winter diapers?

Here is another cute hat that Evie got from Grandma Ruthanne! This will be especially good for those colder winter days, which are coming pretty fast. there was snow on the mountains after last nights storm!

meow. can you handle that chinstrap? too much too much. cant handle that cuteness.
We got a box to hold some toys in the living room area, but elijah decided its his sittin' box from which to watch tv.

Where's daddy's bellybutton? or as elijah says it, where button? whee iis it?

Baby kisses. Evie thinks Elijah is so funny when he plays with her.

And dun dun dunn we are gonna give cloth diapers a shot! Our friends Hannah and Jon just had a baby boy and are using cloth diapers and for some reason, after thinking about it more and more, I started getting very excited about the idea, so we are giving it a try. We're starting small, we only bought two diapers and we would probably need upwards of 20 to be full on eco friendly, but they are expensive kind of when looking at larger quantities. They run about 15-20 bucks a piece, so if anyone wants to get us or the kiddos christmas presents.... send (click here) diapers! (we are using the one-size kind of diapers)
