Heres to having no free time

Cheers! So Tony and I have both started school! I am going full full time trying to finish up my degree as fast as possible. I am hoping to be done this next summer! Yay! Worst case scenario, I will graduate in the fall next year but finally the end is near. I am taking three online classes and two once-a-week classes and one yoga class for a little me time i suppose. Right now, tony is planning on taking two classes, still working out his school and work schedule with my school schedule too, so its a little crazy but we are looking forward to the change.
Also, we are looking forward to football season. Being a huge college football fan, I indulged myself in getting a little festive garb for elijah to celebrate.

His own little University of Utah shirt! He will be wearing this to all the football games we will go to. I think the rainbow is a good sign for our team.

Evie is getting cuter by the minute it seems. Smiling and cooing and buzzing her lips together. She still hates tummy time but she is getting good at rolling from her back to her tummy. Sorry this is the only pic I have with her in it this time.. elijah kind of steals the show.
Puddle Jumpin'. Towards the end he gets very concerned for his shoes.

His current favorite show is Blues Clues or Boo Cooz as Elijah puts it. He loves to sing "Maaaaaaail!"

Another recent favorite is burping, like Daddy.

Giggles!

So it seems like it has taken awhile, but she finally laughed! Honest to goodness giggles. They were pretty funny sounding, but hey, she is still learning how the whole laughing thing works, so give her a break.

(Elijah is partly blue due to a snowcone)
She also thought it was pretty funny when Elijah was playing with her in the tub.

I miss the pool.

We stayed two nights this week at the Westgate resort in Park Cirt for our anniversary! It was wonderfully magical, as was the supa cheap price we paid. Hooray. This was probably my favorite part, the adults only indoor relaxation pool. As soon as you walk into this area, the lighting is soft, there is calming music playing, and the ceiling is painted with blue sky and fluffy clouds. The pool itself was heated to the temperature of a warm bath, who needs a dinky hot tub when the whole pool is warm enough to fall asleep in? Imagine being able to the backstroke in your hot bath. So. good.

With accommodations so affordable, we splurged on a fancy thai five course dinner on main st. Mmm mango lobster spring roll... Curry chicken soup... Pad thai

Mango and sticky rice! My favorite favorite dessert probably ever.
We brought Evie with since she is the quiet one. But she insisted on making funny faces the whole time.I realize now that the only pic I took of the room was this one.... pillows anyone?
Anyways, it was awesome. I already miss it, but its nice to have this back..

And the bedtime routine reestablished. We are thinking about enrolling him in voice lessons, but really, does he even need it? I think not. Hes a natural

Happy happy

Did I mention today is our anniversary? It been a wonderful whirlwind, the past couple years. And even though I can hardly find a picture of us together, its ok because we forego those potential pictures to make room for these gems.

I did manage to find this one of all of us though.

Its nice to think back on things and realize that the best part of my day is still when its time for Tony to get home. Although some days this may be mostly because he can relieve me of elijah for awhile, the best part of the day is when we can make dinner or sit and watch a 'grown up' show together or go on a family walk.
I am grateful for our family, and especially grateful to have Tony as my husband. Even when he cant sit in the house for more than an hour. It keeps us active. Maybe in the future, we will be able to go out to a nice dinner with the kids and not have to chase one of them around or quiet down the screams. But for now we are content to occasionally grab some take out and rent a movie. I am gradually learning to enjoy and relish the times we have as a young couple with cute little kids, even though it is always crazy. I cant wait for the future we have to create together, I know it will be a fun one.

Also, we have reached a new phase in trouble making.

Aunts and Uncles

On my side of the family at least. We are working on it. My favorite is Robby. bobbbyy.

The kids

I thought that since I dont blog enough about the little ones, I should have a mini photo shoot of them together since it seems like I have hardly any ( pics of them together, mounds of individual ones though). Needless to say, Evie was unimpressed with the idea.

But Elijah was definitely up for it.

CHHHEEESSSE.

Funny story, the other night, Elijah decided he didnt want to eat dinner which has been the case lately, so we went on an evening family walk. During the walk, we stopped at the snow cone stand! What I didnt think about was how elijah had pretty much an empty belly, now scarfing this sugar loaded ice and ice cream treat. When bedtime soon arrived, he did the usual cry bit, but when I went in to check on him after awhile there was red puke covering a number of items in his room. Namely, the pillow, blanket, and his pjs. Poor guy. Yuuck.

Then today, as tony is making us a yummy breakfast and i am in the living room, i hear Tony say, Ohhh elijahhh, did you throw up? What is tha.... OH LAURA COME HERE COME HERE.
There is milky poop that exploded out of the back of his diaper alllll over his booster seat. I rushed and got his shirt off, threw a towel on the kitchen floor to get the rest of him cleaned off and so he had his pancakes while taking a bath this morning.

Num num, kaaaake. as elijah puts it.

A Day In the Life

Well, consider this an adjusted day, since Tony was home. Otherwise this post would be about laundry, dishes, poop, and picking up toys. Though there is some laundry in this blogpost.. But I digress.
We started off the day with bathtime for the little ones.

Then we attempted to attend a storytime session at the library, but ultimately it was just me and evie sitting and singing nursery rhymes with everyone else, since elijah had run off. So we decided to just wander about the library in lieu of storytime and went up to the roof where there is a fun terrace with views!

Later that day... I got a load of laundry out of the dryer and put it on the couch to fold, but made the mistake of leaving it unattended for a few moments.

I should've known. Who can resist a warm, fresh-out-of-the-dryer load of laundry?

For some reason, elijah thinks it is awesome to bring shoes up onto the couch and try them on. Most of the time, it is the dirtiest pair of shoes. naturally. on the couch. right

Here is a taste of how cute Evie is every day.

This is why I try to do my pilates video when Elijah is sleeping.

Snacktime.

So there it is. Bathtime, library, laundry, and a little exercise. We try to keep it fresh around here.
